I am a software development engineer for the Projection Engine team at Esri, Inc. in southern California. I hold a Ph.D. in geography, a minor in computer science, and a graduate certificate in geographic information sciences from Oregon State University. Before moving to America, I received Diploma in geodetic engineering from the University of Ljubljana. Until summer 2015, I was a Graduate Research Assistant for the Cartography and Geovisualization Group at Oregon State University.

My main research interests are map projections, mathematical techniques in cartography, and the development of tools for cartographers. I am the author of the Projection Wizard, an online map projection selection tool, and a co-author of several map projections together with Tom Patterson (US National Park Service) and Bernhard Jenny (Monash University). I am also a member of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) Commission on Map Projections.

In my spare time, I enjoy geocaching, cooking, and exploring California.
